1923
The first FOGAL shop opens on the Limmatquai in Zurich.

1939Léon Fogal imports the first nylon stockings, an absolute sales sensation at the FOGAL shops.

1960
FOGAL produces their first pantyhose.

1962
Death of company founder Léon Fogal.

1968
Zurich banker Walter Meier acquires the FOGAL brand.

1968Meier’s son Balthasar succeeds his father as Managing Director.

1971FOGAL launches the first pantyhose made of luxurious cashmere and silk.

1974
Collaboration with renowned artists begins. Starting with Allen Jones’ graffiti work in the Zurich and Basel train stations.

1982The first flagship store opens on Madison Avenue in New York City.

2009
Philippe Gaydoul and the Gaydoul Group acquire the brand.

2012FOGAL's new packaging concept wins the Red Dots Award 

2013
FOGAL designs the legwear in cooperation with Catherine Martin for the remake of the Hollywood film production "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Cary Mulligan.

2014The Oscar goes to Catherine Martin for the best costume design in "The Great Gatsby"! All the legwear is produced by FOGAL.

2015Swimwear manufacturer Lahco of Switzerland acquires the Fogal brand. Renate Millauer-Lang, previous Managing Director of Lahco manages now both brands. Both premium brands see a lot of potential together due to their seasonal business (swimwear in summer/legwear in winter).
